Tedeschi Amarone della Valpolicella Classico DOCG 2012

Corvina35%, Corvinone 35%, Rondinella 20%, Rossignola 10%, Oseleta, Negrara, Dindarella

The Amarone that surprises. This is how the Tedeschi winery describes its “Marne 180,” an Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG crafted from grapes grown in the hills of Valpolicella. In this case, the grapes come from different areas, which is particularly significant as it allows for a well-balanced wine with good structure. The curious name refers to the type of soil, namely marl, and their exposure from southwest to southeast, expressed in degrees, which is about 180. Tedeschi’s blend includes 35% Corvina and Corvinone grapes, followed by 20% Rondinella, and 10% Rossignola, Oseleta, Negrara, and Dindarella. After the vinification process, the wine matures for nearly three years, precisely 30 months, in Slavonian oak barrels. Then, after bottling, it undergoes further aging in the bottle for no less than 6 months.
