Inama, Vulcaia, Sauvignon Fume Veneto IGT 2012

Sauvignon Blanc 100%

“Vulcaia Fumé” is a Sauvignon Blanc that originates from one of the most interesting wine estates in the Veneto region. Inama is a family-owned winery that manages two estates, one near Soave for white wine production and one in the Colli Berici area, dedicated to red grape varieties, particularly Carménère. The Sauvignon Blanc grapes come from the estate vineyards on Monte Foscarino, which are approximately 15 years old and cultivated at an altitude of 150 meters above sea level, with a sunny exposure to the south and southwest. The ancient volcanic soils, formed by basalt, and the cool, ventilated climate have proven to be particularly suitable for this semi-aromatic French grape variety. After the harvest, the grapes undergo cold maceration for several hours, then they are destemmed and gently pressed. After static decantation, the must ferments in French oak barriques with a high toasting level (30% new, 50% second passage, and 20% third passage). The wine matures in barriques for six months with periodic bâtonnage, then it is blended in stainless steel tanks and finally bottled.
