Description
Franz Haas’s “Schweizer” Pinot Nero is crafted from carefully selected grapes harvested by hand in the first decade of October. The bunches undergo a delicate destemming and crushing process upon arrival in the cellar, followed by alcoholic fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel containers with frequent pump-overs and punch-downs to extract maximum flavors from the grape skins. After malolactic fermentation, which also occurs in stainless steel tanks, the wine is racked and aged for 12 to 15 months in French oak barriques. It then continues its maturation in the bottle for about a year before being released to the market.
