Famiglia Cotarella Falesco Vitiano Rosso Umbria IGT 2005

Sangiovese 34%, Merlot 33%, Cabernet 33%

Vitiano Rosso is an Umbria IGT offered by Famiglia Cotarella and originates from the beautiful Falesco estate. We are in the area of Orvieto, well-known for the quality of its fine white wines. However, in this case, the red wines represent a genuine discovery. Credit goes to a careful selection of the grape varieties, very low yields, with less than two kilograms of grapes per plant, and an extremely clean and technically correct winemaking process. Vitiano Rosso is made from Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Sangiovese grapes, harvested at different times according to the cycles of nature. It begins with a long maceration process, during which numerous pump-overs and punch-downs are carried out. Then, after alcoholic fermentation, and once the wines from the three varieties are blended, malolactic fermentation takes place in barriques. Vitiano Rosso is a young wine with an explosive and succulent aromatic fragrance. With an intense and deep ruby color, it boasts a substantial and solid aroma. In the mouth, it is intense and fresh, thanks to its natural acidity. A versatile red wine, innovative in its concept, and immediately enjoyable. It pairs easily and satisfactorily with meat dishes, even elaborate and flavorful ones. For traditional food enthusiasts, it can be served with game-based stews.
