Arnaldo-Caprai Montefalco Rosso Riserva 2006

Sangiovese, Sagrantino, Merlot

The Montefalco Rosso Riserva by Arnaldo Caprai, first produced in 1993, is a blend of Sangiovese, Sagrantino, and Merlot. It undergoes a 20-month aging process in French oak barriques followed by at least an additional 6 months of bottle aging. Powerful, territorial, and refined, this wine is somewhat rugged, gruff, and robust. It has a potential longevity of 10-15 years and stands as a perfect example of how Umbria is blessed with the production of excellent, aged red wines.
