Castello dei Rampolla, Chianti Classico Riserva DOCG 1998

Sangiovese 90%, Cabernet Sauvignon 5%, Merlot 5%

The Chianti Classico from Castello dei Rampolla is a wine of rigorous and traditional character, representing a benchmark for the appellation. Primarily crafted from Sangiovese grapes, with a minimal addition of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, it hails from the magnificent vineyards of Panzano in Chianti. These vineyards are managed using the cover crop technique and treated only with copper, sulfur, and propolis. Biodiversity is evident in a spectacular and suggestive proliferation of organisms and living beings, such as flowers, insects, and various herbs.

In the cellar, the must undergoes a slow spontaneous fermentation in traditional concrete vats. The resulting wine matures for 18 months in oak barrels and is bottled without undergoing filtration processes.
