Paul Jaboulet Aine Cote Rotie Les Jumelles 1999

Syrah 100%

Antoine Jaboulet founded his maison in 1834 in Tain-l’Hermitage. He was succeeded by his sons Paul and Henri, and then Louis, Paul’s son, took over. Later, Gérard, Louis’ son, took the reins, and finally, starting in 1997, Michel Jaboulet, cousin of Gérard. Since 2013, the vineyard of Maison Jaboulet officially embarked on a journey towards organic farming. In 2015, the property obtained the Haute Valeur Environnementale” certification. However, beyond certifications, the maison’s goal remains the same: preserving the quality of the fruit, vinifying rigorously, and aging the wines with finesse to extract the best from all the terroirs of this magnificent Rhône vineyard. Spanning 2 hectares between the Côte Brune and the Côte Blonde, Maison Paul Jaboulet Ainé presents a refined and delicate Côte-Rôtie. The Syrah benefits from the characteristics of these two parcels: the Côte Blonde is rich in silica and limestone, while the Côte Brune consists of clay and iron oxide. The wine is aged for 12 months in oak barrels (20% new wood).”
