Michele Chiarlo Cerequio – Barolo DOCG 1998

Nebbiolo 100%

Description

The ‘Cerequio’ wine is a Barolo produced from Nebbiolo grapes grown within the Cerequio cru, one of the most prestigious areas within the entire DOCG, featuring soils among the oldest in the Langhe region. This terroir is characterized by Tortonian formation, dominated by calcareous marls. The vineyards at the Michele Chiarlo winery face south and southwest, with an average vine age of about 30-40 years. After harvesting, the grapes undergo alcoholic fermentation in oak vats, macerating for 20 days. The maturation phase involves the wine resting initially for 24 months in oak barrels, and then, after bottling, for another 12 months in glass.
