Pio Cesare Barbera d’Alba 2018

Barbera d’Alba is one of the red wines from Piedmont that embodies the spirit and tradition of local viticulture. Pio Cesare, a historic winery in the Langhe region located in Alba, presents a classic Barbera, where the scent of sour cherries on the nose leads to a full and satisfying sip. This Barbera d’Alba is made from the grapes of the same name, used in purity by Pio Cesare and grown in the vineyards of Serralunga d’Alba, Sinio, Diano d’Alba, Treiso, and Monforte. The grapes, once harvested during the vintage period, undergo alcoholic fermentation in steel, macerating for a period of about 20-25 days. Then comes the aging phase, during which the wine matures for 12 months, partly in oak barrels and partly in barriques. At the end of maturation, bottling and commercialization operations are carried out.
