Marchesi Antinori, Tignanello Toscana IGT 2019

Sangiovese 85%, Cabernet Sauvignon 10%, Cabernet Franc 5%

Tignanello is one of the great red wines produced by the Marchesi Antinori, born in the 1970s after a long journey of winemaking experimentation. The idea behind its creation was to obtain grapes with greater concentration and soft tannins through interventions in vine density and pruning methods, resulting in Sangiovese being aged in barriques for the first time and blended with non-traditional varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. A precursor to the great Tuscan red wines, the Super Tuscans, born from the marriage of native and international grape varieties, Tignanello is one of those great wines that has made Italian winemaking history and become a legend. It has a well-defined personality, born from gentle grape pressing and handling, alcoholic fermentation in wooden vats, and malolactic fermentation in barriques.
