La Spinetta Pin Monferrato Rosso 2013

Barbera, Nebbiolo

The history of the Rivetti family begins in 1890 when Giovanni Rivetti leaves for Argentina, leaving his family in Italy. It was his son Giuseppe who began laying the foundations for the creation of a winery: he started producing wine, and in 1977, the Rivetti family settled in La Spinetta, Castagnole Lanze, where they began producing their first red wine, Barbera Cà di Pian. Recently, the Rivettis also acquired vineyards in Grinzane Cavour, where they built an art cellar called Barolo Campè. The family’s vineyards also extend to Tuscany, covering about 65 hectares of land. La Spinetta’s Monferrato Rosso Pin is a blend of Nebbiolo and Barbera grapes, the same used for Barbera d’Asti Bionzo. The two varieties are vinified separately and, after 18 months in barriques, are blended before bottling.
