Ruffino Greppone Mazzi, Brunello di Montalcino DOCG 2003

Sangiovese 100%

The Ruffino Brunello Montalcino DOCG can be considered the quintessence of wines produced in Montalcino. The Brunello “Tenuta Greppone Mazzi” is born in the homonymous estate that Ruffino can boast in the territory. A magical place where the centuries-old experience of the Tuscan house merges with careful control of every aspect related to production. This gives rise to a powerful, long-lasting red wine, unique for its elegance and charm. The grapes are exclusively handpicked. Vinification takes place in steel, and maturation continues in large oak barrels for about 36 months, 12 more than the norms reserved for Brunello production. After a short rest in steel for about 6 months, the wine is bottled and further allowed to age in the bottle for 8 months. The color is ruby red with garnet reflections, with an intense bouquet of ripe plum, cassis, and marasca, accompanied by notes of incense, cocoa, sweet tobacco, and black pepper.
