La Spinetta Vursu Vigneto Gallina – Barbaresco 2000

Nebbiolo 100%

The history of the Rivetti family begins in 1890 when Giovanni Rivetti leaves for Argentina, leaving his family in Italy. It was his son Giuseppe who began laying the foundations for the creation of a winery: he started producing wine, and in 1977, the Rivetti family settled in La Spinetta, Castagnole Lanze, where they began producing their first red wine, Barbera Cà di Pian. Recently, the Rivettis also acquired vineyards in Grinzane Cavour, where they built an art cellar called Barolo Campè. The family’s vineyards also extend to Tuscany, covering about 65 hectares of land. La Spinetta’s Barbaresco ‘Vursu Gallina’ is produced with Nebbiolo grapes cultivated in the ‘Gallina’ cru in the municipality of Neive. The fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled steel tanks. The aging process lasts approximately 20-22 months in French oak barrels, followed by an additional 6 months in the bottle before being released to the market.
