Frescobaldi, Castello di Nipozzano, Nipozzano, Chianti Rufina Riserva DOCG 2005

Sangiovese 90%, Malvasia Nera, Colorino, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon 10%

Description

Nipozzano Riserva is a Chianti Rufina wine created through a skillful blend assembled by the Frescobaldi winery team. It consists primarily of 90% Sangiovese grapes, with small percentages of Malvasia Nera, Colorino, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon. The grapes from these varieties are grown within the Chianti Rufina region in vineyards located at an altitude ranging from 250 to 500 meters above sea level, with a southeast exposure. The terroir features stony, calcareous, and clay-rich soil. After the grapes reach the winery’s production facilities, they macerate for 25 days with frequent batonnage, undergoing both alcoholic and malolactic fermentation. The production process concludes with aging, during which the wine rests for 24 months in oak barriques, followed by an additional 3 months in glass bottles after bottling.
