Antinori, Muffato della Sala, Umbria Bianco 2007

Sauvignon Blanc (60%), Grechetto, Traminer e Riesling (40%).

The Muffato della Sala is a sweet Umbrian white wine crafted by Antinori from Sauvignon Blanc (60%), Grechetto, Traminer, and Riesling (40%) grapes harvested at the Castello della Sala vineyards. Its name stems from the “noble rot” that forms in September and October due to alternating mists and rainy days followed by sunlight, which clings to the grapes, reducing the water content within. The result is a luscious wine with floral and citrus notes, incredibly harmonious, perfect for pairing with desserts or cheese.
