Louis Jadot Pommard 1er Cru ‘Les Grands Epenots’ 2020

Pinot Noir 100%

The Louis Jadot company, located in Beaune, is one of the most prestigious and extensive in Burgundy, covering almost all the region’s appellations. Currently owned by a wealthy American family, it is managed by Frédéric Barnier, who, with his expertise in the field, produces consistently high-quality wines. This consistent quality is what distinguishes the Jadot company in Burgundy. With an estate spanning 225 hectares and 130 appellations (in the Côte d’Or, as well as in the Mâconnais and Beaujolais), the company ensures the same level of satisfaction for consumers regardless of the price range of the bottles, which always feature the emblematic head of Bacchus on the label. The company favors traditional winemaking methods based on slow fermentations and long aging periods. Chemical herbicides are banned, and yields are strictly limited. The clay and limestone soil imparts a dark red color to the wine, with a bouquet of red fruits that gradually evolves into more sanguine aromas over time. The nose is captivating, and the well-structured palate offers a superb balance between ripeness and freshness. The substance is ample, and the tannins are silky. This exceptional wine is one to reserve for great occasions.
