Livio Felluga, Illivio, Bianco 2011

Pinot Bianco 60%, Chardonnay 38%, Picolit 2%

The wine “Illivio” bears the name of one of the great protagonists of Friulian wine, Livio Felluga. Livio Felluga began cultivating vineyards in Rosazzo, one of the most picturesque places in the Colli Orientali del Friuli. His labels, adorned with ancient maps, quickly became famous worldwide and a symbol of quality. The white “Illivio,” produced by the Friulian winery of Livio Felluga, is a classic blend from the Colli Orientali. The oldest tradition in the region was based on the production of white grape blends, often grown intermingled within the same vineyard. After the gentle pressing of the grapes, the classic white winemaking process is followed. The wine then matures for about 10 months on the lees in small French oak barrels. It has a bright light yellow color. The bouquet opens with notes of ripe fruit, hints of tropical fruit, floral nuances, and spicy undertones. The palate is rich and intense, with dense and soft fruit, leading to a harmonious finish characterized by freshness and minerality.
