Gaja Sperss Langhe – Barolo 2000

Nebbiolo 100%

The Barolo ‘Sperss’ is one of the most famous and prestigious labels, not only from Angelo Gaja’s winery but from the entire denomination. Always a symbol of class and elegance, it is a Barolo that has built its myth thanks to the grapes from the most coveted company crus in Serralunga d’Alba and vinification and aging processes conducted to enhance the best varietal qualities of a great Nebbiolo. The Barolo ‘Sperss’ is the expression of the elegant, complex, deep, and multifaceted character of the great wines of Serralunga d’Alba. Born in the Barbaresco area, the Gaja winery has been able to acquire particularly valuable plots in the Barolo lands. As an innovator and experimenter, Angelo Gaja has always put his best efforts into the uncompromising pursuit of quality. Today, his wines represent the absolute excellence of Italian production, and his name is known among the greats of the wine world. The grapes come from the Marenca and Rivette vineyards in Serralunga d’Alba and are cultivated on valuable clay-limestone marl. Fermentation takes place in steel, and the wine matures for 12 months in barriques and another 12 months in large oak barrels
