Franz Haas, Manna, Alto Adige 2021

Riesling, Chardonnay, Gewurztraminer, Sauvignon Blanc

Manna, a highly unique wine that Franz dedicated to Maria Luisa upon its first release in 1995, is a cuvée composed of Riesling, Chardonnay, a portion of Gewürztraminer, and a small percentage of Sauvignon Blanc. The vineyards for these five grape varieties are situated at altitudes ranging from 350 to 800 meters. The Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc undergo fermentation in barriques, while the Riesling, Gewürztraminer, and Kerner ferment in stainless steel tanks. After the fermentations are complete, the young wines are blended to promote the combination and harmonization of their different aromatic components. Following a period of aging on the fine lees for approximately ten months, the wine is bottled and further matured in the bottle for a few months.
