Caparzo,Brunello di Montalcino DOCG 2003

Sangiovese 100%

The Brunello di Montalcino is the result of the work of a historic winery in the region, which already forty years ago produced wine in Montalcino. Caparzo manages a splendid estate of about 90 hectares, predominantly planted with Sangiovese Grosso, set in an environment with wild and uncontaminated nature. Brunello is born from a selection of grapes from four different parcels, located in different areas with microclimates and soil compositions. The vineyards are cultivated in the north in the Caparzo area; to the southwest in the La Caduta vineyard; in the Il Cassero area to the south, and finally, in San Pietro on the east side of the hill. After manual harvesting, the fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature between 28-30 °C, with maceration on the skins for about ten days. The wine matures for at least 36 months in large barrels and completes its refinement with 6 months in the bottle.
