Description
From the friendship that binds the owners of Avignonesi in Montepulciano and Capannelle in Chianti comes our sought-after wine, 50&50. The first vintage of 50&50 was in 1988: during a convivial dinner, the former owners of the two wineries began comparing their wines and achieved this exceptional blend of 50% Capannelle Sangiovese and 50% Avignonesi Merlot. Legend in a bottle. Fermentation at controlled temperature and maceration on the skins for 20-25 days. Sangiovese: 8-10 days of rest on the skins. Aging Merlot: in 225-liter oak barrels Sangiovese: in oak barrels and wooden vats of 30 hl.
