Description
Chardonnay is the soul of Maison Ruinart. Its grapes, mostly sourced from the Côte des Blancs and the Montagne de Reims, form the backbone of all its cuvées. Endowed with great aromatic freshness, liveliness, purity, and brightness, it represents the common thread of all the blends crafted by the house. Delicate and fragile, Chardonnay expands and reveals the extent of its aromatic richness only through a slow maturation in the coolness of the Crayères: up to three years for non-vintage wines, and from nine to ten years for a Dom Ruinart. This maturation presents a challenge for the skills of the Chef de Cave; they must be capable of taming the whims of this vine with its unique characteristics. These qualities confer upon the Taste of Ruinart a personality entirely its own. This is why the Blanc de Blancs is emblematic of Ruinart’s taste.”
