Podere Grattamacco, Bolgheri Rosso 2003

Cabernet Sauvignon 60%, Cabernet Franc 20%, Merlot 10% e Sangiovese 10%

The Bolgheri Rosso wine is born from the rows of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and Sangiovese that grace a dedicated hill in the upper Maremma. The estate’s vineyards are located in a natural cradle protected from the strong winds coming from the nearby sea, covering an area of 14 hectares with soils alternating between loam, red sands, and calcareous marl. The grapes are carefully selected through manual sorting and then transported to the cellar. The must is vinified in truncated-cone wooden vats, where spontaneous fermentation occurs in wooden vats with soft manual punch-downs. It is only during the aging process in barriques for approximately 10 months that the different varieties, subjected to separate malolactic fermentation, are blended to create what, after about a year and a half, will become the eagerly anticipated red wine.
