Louis Roederer Cristal Brut Rose Millesime 2013

Pinot Nero 56%, Chardonnay 44%

Founded in 1776 in Reims, Maison Louis Roederer Champagne has remained family-owned and independent. With nearly 241 hectares of vineyards, Maison Louis Roederer draws its strength from its extraordinary vineyard, composed entirely of Grands and Premiers Crus in the Marne Valley, Montagne de Reims, and Côte des Blancs. A true mosaic of terroirs, Maison Louis Roederer’s vineyard is divided into 410 parcels that reflect the diversity of soils in the Champagne region. The iconic cuvée of the House, first created in 1876 for the Russian Tsar, is Cristal, produced from 45 exceptional vineyards spread across 7 Grands Crus of Montagne de Reims, Vallée de la Marne, and Côte des Blancs. Louis Roederer has developed a unique technique for crafting their rosé champagnes, the result of many years of experimentation. The ‘infusion’ of Chardonnay juice in a Pinot Noir maceration allows for integration, yielding juicy and mature wines that are still very fresh. The Champagne does not undergo malolactic fermentation. 15% of the wines are vinified in wood.”
