Home to some of the world’s most extraordinary Chardonnays, including the famous Montrachet, Chevalier-Montrachet, and Bâtard-Montrachet, Puligny-Montrachet spans an area of 216 hectares in the heart of white wine villages. It is bordered by Meursault to the north and Chassagne-Montrachet to the south. Located just above “Champgains” on marly and limestone soils, the vineyard of “La Garenne” benefits from an ideal southeast exposure. In Old French, ‘La Garenne’ means a wood surrounded by walls reserved for the lord of the manor for hunting small game, particularly rabbits (hence the expression ‘lapin de garenne’). Traditional fermentation in oak barrels with complete malolactic fermentation. Aging for 8 to 10 months in oak barrels, 50% of which are new.
