Chateau Talbot – Saint Julien 2005

Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot

Château Talbot is located on the outskirts of Saint-Julien-Beychevelle, a small municipality in the Bordeaux wine region situated on the left bank of the Gironde River, in the remarkable Haut-Médoc. Elevated to the status of 4th Growth (4ème Cru Classé) in the 1855 classification, after two centuries of ownership by the Marquis d’Aux, the estate was acquired by Désiré Cordier in 1917. Today, it is Nancy Bignon Cordier, the descendant, who manages the 107 hectares of the property, forming a mosaic of small plots differentiated by soil type, age of the vines, and grape variety.

Sixty-seven percent (67%) of the vineyards are cultivated with Cabernet Sauvignon, the principal grape variety of the region, and only 5 hectares are dedicated to white grape varieties. The Grand Cru Classé represents approximately 50-60% of the annual production, resulting from a meticulous selection of the grapes.
