Brancaia, Chianti Classico DOCG 2019

Sangiovese 100%


The Sangiovese grapes of Chianti Classico come from the Brancaia Estate, located in the municipality of Castellina in Chianti, in the heart of the Classic area of the appellation. The vineyards are cultivated in a magnificent hilly area at an altitude of 200/250 meters above sea level, with a south-southeast exposure. The Sangiovese plants are trained with spurred cordon, with a density of 5,680 vines per hectare, planted in deep soils consisting equally of sandy loam and clay. After manual harvesting, the grapes undergo fermentation in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 28/30 °C with maceration on the skins for about 10/13 days. After racking, the Sangiovese matures for a period of 12 months, 2/3 in stainless steel tanks and 1/3 in concrete, to preserve its typicality and varietal fragrance. Before being released to the market, it completes its refinement with a few months in the bottle.
