The Morey family has been present in Meursault since 1793. Domaine Pierre Morey is an estate that was founded in 1971 from the family business and is still managed by Pierre Morey – former manager of Domaine Leflaive – with the help of his daughter Anne. The 11-hectare estate is spread across the communes of Monthelie, Pommard, Puligny-Montrachet, and especially Meursault and is worked biodynamically. Since 1992, Pierre Morey has also developed a small négoce business, Morey-Blanc, where the cuvées are carefully selected. The quality of the terroirs and the talent of the winemaker lead to the production of great white wines, widely appreciated, but also red wines known for their finesse. The whites are at the top of the Burgundian hierarchy. Unfortunately, the quantities available are limited, and the bottles are very rare and not enough to satisfy all wine enthusiasts worldwide. Corton-Charlemagne comes from Pierre Morey’s craft (Morey-Blanc). It is a great wine to be aged, characterized by minerality and toasted almond notes after a few years of aging.
