Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin La Grand Dame Brut 2004

Pinot Noir 92%, chardonnay 8%

It all began in 1772 when Philippe Clicquot, a businessman and landowner, founded ‘un négoce de vin à l’enseigne Clicquot.’ A small venture aspiring to transcend borders and introduce the new name of Champagne to the entire world. In 1798, François Clicquot, the son of the Maison’s founder, married Barbe Nicole Ponsardin. It was she who, after inheriting from her husband all the passion and expertise for the production and commercialization of Champagne, managed to grow the enterprise into one of the most famous and renowned Maisons not only in the Reims area but throughout the Champagne region.
