Querciabella, Camartina, Toscana IGT 2004

Cabernet Sauvignon 70%, Sangiovese 30%

The Camartina from Querciabella is an exceptional wine, endowed with great personality and elegance. It is a red wine that expresses a precise character, despite its international impact. The Querciabella winery was acquired by Pepito Castiglioni in the 1970s and, following the founder’s passing, is now managed by Pepito’s son, Sebastiano. In 1988, with great insight, the estate was converted to organic farming, and since 2000, it has introduced biodynamic practices in its vineyards, becoming a reference point for the protection of the territory and the environment in Chianti Classico. The principles of biodynamics are applied rationally on the estate: agronomic practices are studied seriously and are the result of careful experimentation. The choice to operate biodynamically aligns with Sebastiano Castiglioni’s highly respectful vision of nature. A characteristic of almost all Chianti vineyards is their relatively high altitude, which imparts freshness, grace, and finesse to Querciabella’s wines, particularly to this splendid Camartina.
