Louis Roederer Cristal Millesime Brut 2006

Pinot Noir 60%, Chardonnay 40%

Description

The most famous wine from the Maison was created in 1876 to satisfy the discerning taste of Tsar Alexander II. The Emperor asked Louis Roederer to reserve for him each year the best cuvée of the Maison, which he particularly appreciated. To accentuate the singularity of this exceptional champagne, a specially made flat-bottomed crystal bottle was created. It bore the name of this precious material, which enhances its transparency and luminosity. Produced only in the “great vintages”, when the maturity of the Chardonnay (about 40%) and Pinot Noir (about 60%) that compose it is perfect, Cristal ages in the cellar for 6 years and rests for an additional 8 months after disgorgement.”
