Leone De Castris Five Roses Rosato Salento IGT 2004

Negramaro 90%, Malvasia Nera 10%

This “Five Roses” Rosé originates from a blend that includes one of the main red grape varieties cultivated within the regional boundaries of Puglia, the Negroamaro, along with 10% Malvasia Nera. The vines of these two varieties have an average age of 35 years and are cultivated using the traditional “alberello pugliese” system within soils characterized by sandy textures. The grape must undergoes a brief skin maceration before going through static decantation. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel containers at a controlled temperature. The maturation process occurs for several months in stainless steel until the wine is ready to be bottled by the Leone de Castris winery.
