Chateau Lafite Rothschild Pauillac 1970

Cabernet Sauvignon 97%, Merlot 2,5%, Petit Verdot 0,5%

Il Château Lafite Rothschild originates from vineyards situated in the heart of the Pessac-Léognan AOC, within the renowned wine region of Bordeaux. It is one of the premier crus included in the Official Classification of Bordeaux Wines of 1855, a classification system initiated by Emperor Napoleon III during the Paris Universal Exhibition. Its purpose was to make the finest Bordeaux wines more recognizable even beyond France’s borders. The wines were ranked from first to fifth cru based on the cellar’s reputation and price, which, at the time, was directly linked to quality. Alongside the other premier cru Grand Classé, Château Lafite Rothschild is considered a legendary wine that has made significant contributions to the history of winemaking.
