Chateau La Fleur Saint Georges – Lalande-de-Pomerol 2013

Merlot 80% , cabernet Franc 15%, Cabernet Sauvignon 5%

Lalande De Pomerol is an appellation covering over 1,000 hectares that often lives in the shadow of its “bigger sister,” Pomerol, and its globally renowned estates such as Petrus. Nevertheless, this designation, characterized by a terroir of clay, gravel, and sand in its western part, produces outstanding wines primarily based on Merlot. Merlot finds ideal conditions to thrive on this side of the Dordogne riverbank. Lalande De Pomerol wines are distinguished by their exquisite finesse on the palate and are enjoyable even when young. However, after a period of aging, they can develop remarkable aromas of truffle, red and black berries. When crafted with Cabernet Franc, these wines exhibit a crisp and fresh fruitiness alongside a beautiful structure. This cuvée is a blend of Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot: Cabernet Sauvignon contributes elegance and remarkable aging potential, Cabernet Franc adds freshness and a complex bouquet of red fruits and flowers, while Merlot brings a charmingly soft and fruity touch, expressing itself best when young.
