Chateau Gazin Pomerol 2000

Merlot, Cabernet Franc

Château Gazin is situated on the Pomerol plateau in France and has its roots dating back to the 18th century. It was likely built on the remains of a hospital belonging to the Knights of Malta in the 12th century, intended to accommodate pilgrims on the route to Santiago de Compostela. The cellar, restored in 1980, has been owned by the Bailliencourt family since the 20th century, one of the oldest families in northern France, and is currently managed by the 5th generation. The property spans 26 hectares of land composed of gravel, pebbles, blue and green clays containing iron oxides, and is cultivated with Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Cabernet Franc. Vineyard care follows traditional and environmentally friendly methods, employing plowing, organic fertilizers, and manual harvesting to ensure the highest quality and expression of the terroir.
